About the role
The Micro Lens Engineer leads micro-lens material and fabrication process development at Avicena in Sunnyvale, CA.
What you'll do
- Work with optical designers to generate micro-lens array designs.
- Work closely with material suppliers to develop lens materials.
- Work with partners to develop wafer level lens replication processes.
- Design testing plans to ensure results meet product requirements and reliability.
- Execute hands-on fabrication of prototype assemblies.
What you'll need
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Optics, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with wafer level optics.
- Deep knowledge of material selection for micro lens applications.
- Cleanroom process experience.
- Experience with optical modelling software such as Zemax, Lumerical, or LightTools.
- Experience working with micro alignment machines, including die-bond and wafer alignment.
- Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills to collaborate internally and with partners, customers, and consultants.
