About the role
The Wafer Test Technician handles semiconductor wafers and operates semi-automatic and fully automatic wafer probers within an R&D lab setting.
What you'll do
- Operate semi-auto and fully automatic wafer probers, including wafer loading, alignment, chuck operation, and die stepping.
- Perform probe tip and probe card alignment, create or load wafer maps, and set test coordinates and die locations.
- Run automated wafer-level test sequences and execute basic troubleshooting of contact and probing issues.
- Follow procedures consistently, document changes, and communicate abnormalities and status clearly to engineers.
- Receive, inspect, label, track, store, and ship semiconductor wafers and engineering samples.
- Work within a clean room environment using required Personal Protective Equipment, including coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.
What you'll need
- Experience with hands-on operation of semi-auto and fully automatic wafer probers.
- Experience with wafer loading, alignment, chuck operation, die stepping, and probe tip/probe card alignment.
- Experience creating or loading wafer maps and setting test coordinates and die locations.
- Experience running automated wafer-level test sequences and performing basic troubleshooting of contact/probing issues.
- Experience handling semiconductor wafers in an R&D lab environment and adhering to lab procedures and protocols.
- Ability to meet physical demands including standing for extended periods, lifting, working in tight spaces, using hand/power tools, and operating heavy machinery such as forklifts.
