About the role
AMD is hiring a Manager Systems Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor device manufacturing. You will act as the key technical leader spanning pre-silicon planning and emulation to initial power-on, post-silicon execution, and customer launch.
What you'll do
- Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output parameters, and hardware and software compatibility.
- Work across emulation and validation to define test strategies ensuring functional correctness, electrical compliance, and customer use case enablement.
- Guide test planning across silicon, hardware, and firmware/software teams from silicon bring-up to customer launch.
- Serve as debug lead, driving complex issue resolution through virtual taskforces to customer satisfaction.
- Drive team efforts to define test content, execution strategies, cluster debug tools, and reporting mechanisms.
- Evaluate system design weaknesses across the flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, timing, and power use.
What you'll need
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field plus 5 years of engineering experience (or a Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience).
- 1 year of experience in SOC or system architecture.
- 1 year of experience in Graphics IP architecture verification or CPU architecture.
- 1 year of experience in x86-64 architecture.
- 1 year of experience in OS kernel & systems development.
- 1 year of experience in memory management and multi-threading, as well as Machine Learning.
