About the role
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support the Manufacturing Engineering Department in daily production and engineering activities at the Central Repair Center (CRC) of Applied Materials based in Chandler, Arizona. The intern will contribute to process improvement initiatives, production process support, and manufacturing documentation activities alongside cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
- Work closely with build and test technicians to identify process improvement opportunities and execute time studies on build and test lines. - Assist in developing and updating manufacturing procedures and work instructions. - Collect and analyze manufacturing data to support operational decisions and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions. - Support the evaluation of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment while maintaining engineering documentation and manufacturing records. - Follow safety procedures and manufacturing best practices while collaborating with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanics, Industrial Production, or a related field. - Basic understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes. - Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. - Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
