Digital Design & SoC Architecture
$114,400 - $220,200 USD yearly
About the role
The Staff Systems Engineer designs, defines, and implements complex system requirements, specifications, and platform designs leveraging the Skyworks Timing portfolio. The role focuses on developing timing system reference designs, derivative ICs with embedded firmware, and FPGA IP for emulation and testing.
What you'll do
- Lead the definition, verification, and validation of timing products.
- Execute system and platform design leveraging the Skyworks Timing portfolio.
- Develop FPGA IP for emulation, in-house testing, and reference designs.
- Collaborate with the silicon design team to develop verification and validation tests for silicon under development.
- Partner with software teams to develop FPGA IPs for PTP reference designs.
- Work with cross-functional teams to coordinate subsystem design and guide products from definition to production.
What you'll need
- MSEE with 6+ years of systems design experience, or BSEE with 8+ years of systems design experience, preferably in communications or high-performance mixed-signal products.
- Experience with system-level simulation tools such as MATLAB.
- Experience with System Verilog, UVM, and RNM.
- Experience with FPGA or ASIC digital design flows.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment including spectrum analyzers and phase noise analyzers.
- Understanding of phase locked loops, control theory, and EM theory, along with knowledge in communication theory, RF design, and signal processing.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with IEEE-1588 compliant networks.
- Prior experience with PLL design and validation.
- Prior experience with timing product development.
Skills: System and platform design, timing products, FPGA IP, verification, validation, phase locked loops
