About the role
As a Staff SOC Performance Architect, you will work alongside architects and performance engineers to develop high-performance interconnect IP. Your focus centers on developing cycle-accurate timing and performance models for coherent and non-coherent interconnects within the Arm System IP portfolio.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with micro-architects, RTL, and validation engineers to develop cycle-accurate timing and performance models for coherent and non-coherent interconnects. - Drive new feature development by evaluating architectural trade-offs and their impact on system-level performance. - Build correlated performance models used for internal analysis and customer evaluation. - Partner with internal teams and external customers to deliver collateral and technical insights for Arm-based systems. - Design performance test suites, identify bottlenecks, validate expectations, and propose data-driven solutions.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with a strong foundation in computer architecture, microarchitecture, and performance analysis. - 4+ years of experience in SoC performance modeling and/or RTL within the semiconductor industry. - Track record of developing cycle-accurate performance models and evaluating microarchitectural features for performance improvements. - Strong C++ skills for large-scale software development. - Experience with SystemC TLM and proficiency in Python scripting.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of interconnect microarchitecture, PCIe, and CHI protocols. - Familiarity with realistic workloads used for system performance optimization. - Experience with performance verification methodologies and correlating software models with RTL.
Skills: performance modeling, SystemC TLM, C++, interconnect, microarchitecture

How we counted: 480 open SoC/Chip Architecture (SOC Architecture) roles from 68 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 28 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Digital Design & Verification family row.
