About the role
As a Software Engineer on the Server CPU team at Qualcomm, you will design, develop, modify, and validate embedded software, firmware, and test automation suites. You will collaborate across systems, hardware, architecture, and test engineering teams to verify platform quality, integration, and performance across functional and system levels.
What you'll do
- Create software/firmware test plans addressing the requirements traceability matrix and test coverage with respect to feature requirements. - Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated software/firmware test suites to verify quality and compliance at functional, integration, and system levels. - Manually test customer experience aspects of installation and deployment across compute environments where appropriate. - Assist in establishing Quality Engineering and release engineering processes focused on continuous integration and continuous deployment. - Implement customer use cases, workload analysis models, and diagnostics to support bring-up, debugging, and production-level software readiness. - Validate operating systems and customer environments to identify opportunities for power and performance enhancements.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 6+ years of software engineering experience (or Master's with 5+ years, or PhD with 4+ years). - 3+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python. - Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining automated software/firmware test suites. - Experience verifying software quality and compliance across functional, integration, and system levels.
Nice to have
- 8 years of experience in software/firmware validation, including at least 5 years focused on Data Center Servers. - Extensive experience working with operating systems such as Ubuntu Server, RHEL, SUSE, or Windows Server. - Experience with SW/FW integration across BIOS/UEFI, BMC firmware, and operating systems on x86, ARM64, or RISC-V 64bit server platforms. - Understanding of server firmware standards, open-source implementations, and specifications for ARM64-based servers.
