About the role
AMD is hiring a Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor device manufacturing. The role oversees definition, design, verification, and documentation across the ASIC development process flow from architecture through synthesis, place and route, timing, and power analysis.
What you'll do
- Oversee definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
- Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation, including defining module interfaces and formats.
- Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits.
- Evaluate process flow aspects spanning high-level designs, synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
- Work in an area of specialization to develop ASIC and layout designs, evaluating data factors and design techniques.
- Apply engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to design, develop, and test AMD products.
What you'll need
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1 year of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- 1 year of experience with logic and circuit design, as well as SOC and system architecture.
- 1 year of experience with RTL design and coding using Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL.
- 1 year of experience with design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.
- 1 year of experience with SOC, GPU, or CPU architecture.
- 1 year of experience with Python.
- 1 year of experience with back-end (physical design) and front-end EDA tools.

How we counted: 1084 open Digital/RTL Design (RTL Design) roles from 103 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 6 Nov 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Digital Design & Verification family row.
