About the role
AMD is hiring a PMTS Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductors. You will lead definition, design, verification, and architecture across ASIC development and multidimensional integrated circuit layouts.
What you'll do
- Lead definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development, including architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
- Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
- Lead the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits.
- Evaluate and make technical decisions across the complete process flow, from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, timing closure, and power optimization.
- Serve as technical leader across project and departmental boundaries to resolve issues impacting ASIC and layout design success.
- Apply engineering principles, best practices, and electronics expertise to design, develop, and test AMD products.
What you'll need
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field plus 5 years of engineering experience (or a Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of progressive experience).
- 4 years of experience with hardware and software verification.
- 4 years of experience with graphics IP architecture verification or functional verification of microprocessors.
- 4 years of experience with CPU architecture or GPU architecture.
- 4 years of experience with the physical design process.
- 4 years of experience with TCL or Perl scripting.
- 4 years of experience with memory management and multi-threading.
