About the role

This role operates within KIOXIA's Innovation Lab focusing on systems architecture, flash storage, persistent memory, and AI data infrastructure. You will work closely with Product Marketing and Engineering to enable AI architectures and reference designs through strategic partner collaborations.

What you'll do

• Develop reference architectures and oversee testing for flash storage in AI workloads, RAG pipelines, and enterprise applications.
• Collaboratively design server and storage infrastructure for GPU-oriented computing such as NVIDIA GPUDirect Storage and SCADA.
• Construct testing procedures using benchmark tools and datasets, testing for performance improvements with GIDS and SCADA.
• Analyze industry trends and emerging technologies, acting as a technical advisor to internal teams to guide technology strategy.
• Develop and maintain deep technical relationships with key customers, ecosystem partners, and partner advisory councils.
• Author white papers, technical documentation, and industry presentations while representing KIOXIA at industry events.

What you'll need

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience developing Data Center Infrastructure class Linux software or Enterprise-class storage solutions.
• At least 10 years of experience in architecting filesystems, block device layer drivers, or data management functionality for storage systems.
• 5+ years of experience evaluating new technologies for partnerships or acquisitions, including market evaluation and technical due diligence.
• Familiarity with the open-source industry and active participation in community development processes.
• Knowledge of AI workflows, including data access patterns and infrastructure requirements.
• Ability to travel roughly 25% both domestic and international.

Nice to have

• Advanced degrees (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Prior experience as a member of a CTO staff or in a similar high-level technical advisory role.
