About the role
Skyworks is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to support RF GaN and GaAs biasing ICs used in radar, SATCOM, and high-performance communication systems. In this role, you will help customers integrate bias controller products into their designs and develop evaluation platforms that demonstrate device performance and key features.
What you'll do
- Design evaluation boards for GaN/GaAs bias controllers and power solutions.
- Own and drive technical documentation including datasheets, evaluation results, customer presentations, and other technical collateral.
- Support system-level applications including gate/drain sequencing, pulsed bias control, and telemetry.
- Work directly with customers and field teams to provide design-in and debug support.
- Collaborate with design, validation, and product line teams to influence future product development, and support silicon validation.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of advanced degree and education) in analog, mixed-signal IC, and power supply applications and design.
- Strong lab skills for testing, characterizing, and debugging analog circuits.
- Familiarity with I²C/SPI interfaces, Python test automation, and PCB design tools.
- Soldering and PCB rework skills.
- US Person status (US citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) to support US Government contracts.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with GaN or GaAs biasing, RF power amplifier systems, and power management circuits.
