About the role
The Sr. Manager, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) leads the site EHS team to build, implement, and improve the site EHS management system as the facility transitions from commissioning into full operations. The role oversees occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, and hazardous materials management supporting cleanrooms, tools, chemical delivery systems, and hazardous gas systems.
What you'll do
- Lead the site EHS team and advise site management on regulatory compliance, risk reduction, emergency readiness, and EHS management systems aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. - Partner early with design, construction, facilities, and engineering teams to integrate EHS requirements into equipment layouts, chemical and gas systems, utilities, and operating procedures. - Manage environmental compliance programs including air permits, emissions tracking, abatement systems, wastewater discharge and pretreatment, stormwater pollution prevention, and hazardous waste handling. - Direct safety and industrial hygiene programs covering hazardous energy control, electrical safety, chemical safety, exposure assessments, sampling coordination, and incident investigations. - Oversee hazardous materials management, chemical inventory, Safety Data Sheets, storage compatibility, and ionizing or non-ionizing radiation safety duties. - Lead audits, inspections, corrective action tracking, and emergency response and business continuity planning across the facility.
What you'll need
- BS or MS in health and safety engineering, industrial engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, environmental science, occupational safety, or a related technical discipline. - 10+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, high-tech, research and development, equipment design, or similar technical operations. - Working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, EHS management systems, regulatory compliance, incident management, and audit programs. - Experience with environmental compliance covering air permitting, emissions tracking, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous materials, and hazardous waste. - Knowledge of semiconductor equipment or high-tech operations, including chemical and gas systems, cleanrooms, facilities utilities, and emissions controls. - Experience with industrial hygiene methods and exposure assessment standards applicable to semiconductor or chemical-intensive operations. - Ability to respond to emergencies during off-hours as needed.
Nice to have
- Experience leading, supervising, or developing EHS professionals or cross-functional EHS teams. - Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or a similar credential.
