About the role
The Lead Engineer, Applications provides technical support of optical network Transmission and Transport products for North American and European customers. The role encompasses customer technical support, trial execution, root cause analysis, and product specification feedback across coherent optical transceivers and DWDM architectures.
What you'll do
- Provide technical support for customer issues, perform root cause analysis with internal teams, and conduct formal tracking from record creation to resolution. - Review and propose test scope and plans, conduct pre-testing with R&D teams, and execute testing at customer sites. - Review PLM and R&D product specifications, delivering real-world feedback to new product development. - Deliver new product installation and operation training for front line support teams and author customer installation and operating documentation. - Support customer lab trials, pre-sales inquiries, and investigate field issues and RMA support.
What you'll need
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics. - 6+ years of working experience in optical communication companies as a technical support manager or engineer, development engineer, or system verification engineer. - Experience with coherent optical transceivers, DWDM, OTN, optical network architectures, and network management protocols. - Experience investigating field issues, RMA support, and using and troubleshooting network management systems. - Ability to travel 25% to 33% of the time and provide 7x24 on-call support.

- Experience in coding Python script. - Experience in product development.
