About the role
Qualcomm is seeking an engineer to design, develop, and optimize embedded ADAS software for autonomous and self-driving vehicle systems. The role focuses on the Snapdragon Ride platform, delivering sensor data acquisition, sensor synchronization, and high-performance software modules.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and optimize software for embedded technology blocks enabling autonomous and self-driving vehicles. - Develop and enhance technologies for sensor data acquisition from IMU, GPS, camera, radar, and LiDAR devices, ensuring accurate sensor time synchronization. - Conduct comprehensive system-level benchmarking and optimize software modules and data-sharing techniques using middleware. - Design and develop software development kits (SDKs) to enable customer proof-of-concept implementations. - Write detailed technical documentation, specifications, and feature descriptions for complex engineering projects. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including vehicle integration and testing, to validate and integrate software stacks in prototype vehicles.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field with 2+ years of software engineering experience (or Master's degree with 1+ year, or a PhD). - Programming proficiency in languages such as C, C++, and Python. - Demonstrated experience in software design and development for sensor data acquisition and embedded systems.
Nice to have
- 4 years of C++ development, with C++14 and C++17 experience. - Embedded SW design and development for safety critical systems. - Experience with multi-threaded and multi-core SW development and design. - Hands-on experience with embedded platforms running QNX, AGL, or Safe Linux. - Knowledge of the Linux network stack and experience with network device drivers. - Familiarity with Adaptive AUTOSAR middleware and frameworks. - Knowledge of safety critical software development processes, including ASPICE, ASIL, ISO26262, MISRA C++, and AUTOSAR C++. - Familiarity with static analysis tools, code coverage metrics, and unit test generation. - Experience with source code management tools such as git, git-lfs, and GitHub/GitLab.
