About the role
The Failure Analysis Technician performs routine failure analysis and supporting QA/QC evaluations to deliver results to engineering and operations teams. The role supports Fab process and yield issue resolution using high-volume imaging and analytical techniques.
What you'll do
- Perform routine SEM, FIB, TEM, and analytical analysis in high volume. - Manage assigned samples within the imaging queue and complete high-priority requests within required turnaround times. - Create and present reports summarizing failure analysis results in person and virtually. - Assist with basic troubleshooting and schedule preventive maintenance (PM) on imaging tools to comply with audit requirements. - Coordinate tool utilization within the team environment to maximize tool output while following lab safety, quality, and environmental procedures. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve Fab process issues.
What you'll need
- Associate degree or 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry. - 3+ years of experience operating SEM, FIB, or TEM failure analysis tools. - Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Ability to work a second shift schedule (Sunday through Wednesday, 3:00pm to 1:30am) following an initial 3-month training period (Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm). - U.S. Person status as defined by ITAR (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee).
