About the role
This role focuses on designing, building, and improving custom software used across Keysight's Santa Rosa wafer fab, test floor, and assembly lines. You will develop applications spanning wafer maps, electrical test orchestration and automation, data transformation, and extensions of manufacturing execution systems (MES).
What you'll do
- Build applications from scratch for engineering teams and design shared libraries, APIs, and tooling used across the organization.
- Build data pipelines and ETL processes to move and transform manufacturing data between databases, applications, and commercial platforms.
- Extend and integrate with the manufacturing execution system (Critical Manufacturing).
- Develop software that runs wafer test stations, including device sampling, wafer location navigation, dynamic statistical device health assessment, and data forwarding.
- Extend core platforms such as the wafer map system and the framework test engineers use to write test plans.
- Support factory operations by building SPC systems, calculators, and analytical tools, while maintaining production software reliability and diagnosability.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-10+ years of professional software development experience in C#/.NET, or in Java or C++ with a willingness to work in C#.
- Relational SQL proficiency, including writing non-trivial queries and diagnosing performance issues.
- Experience navigating and safely modifying a large existing codebase used in production.
- Experience with automated testing, Git pull-request workflows, and code review.
- Methodical production debugging experience using debuggers, logs, and data.
Nice to have
- Experience with manufacturing, industrial, or lab data systems, particularly semiconductor concepts like wafer maps, lots, and yield.
- Experience integrating software with equipment or external systems, such as device APIs, file and message interfaces, MES, or ERP.
- Experience with Windows desktop development using WPF/MVVM or ASP.NET web applications and APIs.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), production monitoring (Sentry), and deployment with PowerShell or Chocolatey.
- Experience with containers using Docker, OpenShift, or Kubernetes.
Skills: C#, .NET, SQL, wafer test, MES
