About the role
Software Engineer II (Distributed / Scalable Systems) develops and deploys production software features across complex equipment platforms in KLA's e-Beam inspection division.
What you'll do
- Drive end-to-end development of software features within production-grade systems, spanning requirements, design, implementation, testing, and release. - Write production-level code focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed or multi-threaded systems. - Translate system and customer requirements into scalable, maintainable software designs in a multi-disciplinary environment. - Develop, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker to ensure consistent packaging across environments. - Orchestrate and scale applications on Kubernetes, handling cluster configuration, deployments, and monitoring for high availability. - Identify and resolve complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with hardware and systems teams.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience, Master's degree with 3 years of related experience, or Doctorate with 0 years of experience. - Experience developing production-quality software in C#, Java, or Python. - Hands-on experience developing, deploying, and managing containerized applications using Docker and orchestrating applications on Kubernetes. - Experience working with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and designing data-driven applications. - Background debugging and troubleshooting complex systems in multi-threaded or distributed environments. - Solid understanding of software architecture principles, data structures, and algorithms.
Nice to have
- Experience working in system-level or hardware-integrated environments such as instrument control or machine software. - Experience operating in systems where software interacts directly with physical hardware or large-scale infrastructure.
