SoC Power Spec Engineer
About the role
Apple is seeking an SoC Power Spec Engineer in Austin to model power dissipation across IPs, applications, and system levels for ASICs used in Apple products.
What you'll do
- Model power dissipation at the SOC level, covering Neural Engines, CPUs, Graphics, compute (AI/ML) accelerators, media IPs, caches, and fabric.
- Model power dissipation for customer use-cases.
- Interact with System designers, Technology, Silicon Validation, and Product Engineering teams to define SOC-level power targets and power delivery.
- Work with the power lab and test teams to correlate models to silicon data.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
Nice to have
- MSEE.
- Knowledge of SOC architecture and power modeling.
- Understanding of SOC building blocks including CPU, GPU, caches, memory, and media IPs.
- Scripting and data analysis skills.
- Understanding of VLSI design flow and CMOS technology with a background in EE.
- Ability to understand and model thermal control loops and throttling mechanisms.
