About the role
AMD is hiring an SMTS Systems Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. The role involves defining processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output, and working parameters for hardware and software compatibility.
What you'll do
- Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes, identifying, analyzing, and resolving system design weaknesses.
- Contribute to the framework and architecture used across multiple products or systems.
- Evaluate aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
- Select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve problems where analysis requires reviewing multiple factors.
- Apply knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment to the design, development, and testing of products.
What you'll need
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field plus 4 years of experience (or a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience).
- 4 years of experience programming or scripting in C/C++, Perl, Ruby, and Python.
- 4 years of experience with debug techniques and methodologies.
- 4 years of experience with software or hardware modeling frameworks.
- 4 years of experience with common lab equipment, including protocol or logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- 4 years of experience with board or platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization.
- 4 years of experience with system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy.
