About the role
This role involves leading the definition and architectural development of power electronics system solutions for Solid State Transformer architectures. It requires expertise in power electronics, functional safety, and system integration.
What you'll do
- Lead system architecture definition for power electronics solutions, ensuring alignment with functional safety, performance, and scalability requirements.
- Collaborate with OEMs and internal cross-functional teams to define and refine system-level requirements and interfaces.
- Drive architectural decisions from concept through production, balancing trade-offs across power, sense & control, thermal, cost, and safety constraints.
- Work with the Functional safety team to ensure compliance with ISO 26262, UL safety, and other relevant automotive or Industrial safety standards.
- Translate customer and market requirements into robust, modular, and reusable system architectures that support long-term product roadmaps.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to systems engineering teams, guiding best practices in architecture modeling, safety analysis, and system validation.
What you'll need
- Proven experience in power electronics systems focusing on Solid State Devices, AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion topologies and architecture.
- Strong background in electrical and thermal modeling, simulations, and bench testing.
- Demonstrated leadership in leading cross-functional engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience in system architecture of high voltage power electronics products in automotive safety critical applications or Industrial applications.
- Experience in collaborating with Tier 1 Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) on the development and integration of power electronics systems.
Nice to have
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field with a focus on power electronics, automotive systems, or semiconductor technologies.
- Deep understanding of solid-state switching technologies (e.g., SiC, GaN) and their application in high-reliability automotive and industrial environments.
- Experience working at OEM or Tier -1 on Power electronic solutions for Solid State Transformer.
- Proven experience architecting systems that meet ASIL-C/D requirements under ISO 26262, including development of safety concepts, technical safety requirements, and safety cases.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and system integration challenges.
- Prior experience representing technical strategy in customer engagements, industry working groups, or standardization bodies.
