About the role
This role supports Altera's U.S. income tax reporting, tax provision, and compliance processes. The position involves ensuring timely and accurate tax filings, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
What you'll do
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740.
- Prepare and review supporting workpapers for U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns.
- Coordinate data collection and information requests with internal stakeholders and external tax advisors.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end tax close activities.
- Assist with federal, state, and local tax audits and examinations.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and data quality within tax processes.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
- 3+ years of corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or industry.
- Knowledge of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax principles.
- Understanding of ASC 740 and tax provision processes.
- Strong Excel skills and experience analyzing large data sets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have
- CPA license or progress toward CPA certification.
- Master's degree in Taxation (MST) or Accounting.
- Experience with tax compliance and provision software such as OneSource, Corptax, Workiva, or similar platforms.
- Experience within a public company or multinational corporate environment.
- Big 4 or national public accounting firm experience.
- Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls.
