About the role
The Senior Staff CAD Engineer provides technical leadership for global engineering compute and CAD infrastructure across Renesas. The position combines hands-on engineering with architecture and operational ownership across Linux compute environments, engineering workspaces, LSF integration, EDA license infrastructure, and Perforce data management.
What you'll do
- Own and evolve engineering project and workspace architecture, establishing automated creation, initialization, and configuration workflows across global sites. - Lead Linux-based EDA compute infrastructure development, working with IT/IS to define compute, storage, networking, and server requirements for interactive and batch compute. - Architect and support LSF-based batch compute environments, implementing utilization monitoring, workload efficiency tracking, and capacity planning. - Manage global EDA license-server infrastructure, building automation for license deployment, validation, auditing, and FlexNet utilization reporting. - Provide engineering-side technical expertise for Perforce Helix and IPLM server infrastructure, storage, lifecycle management, and automation. - Build production-grade automation using Python and shell scripts, integrating CAD infrastructure with Jenkins/CI and monitoring systems.
What you'll need
- Significant experience in EDA/CAD infrastructure engineering within semiconductor development environments. - Strong Linux/Unix engineering expertise and an understanding of compute, storage, and network requirements for EDA tools. - Scripting and automation proficiency in Python and shell scripting. - Experience with LSF or comparable distributed compute workload management environments. - Experience with enterprise version-control and design data-management infrastructure, specifically Perforce Helix and IPLM. - Direct experience supporting EDA licensing and FlexNet-based licensing environments.
