GeForce NOW media streaming stack engineering for cloud-based interactive graphics.
Originally posted 20 July 2026 by the employer.
About the role
This role involves developing a high-performance, low-latency streaming stack to deliver video quality and low latency for GeForce NOW cloud gaming. You will focus on media streaming pipelines across interactive graphics applications, virtual and augmented reality, robotics, and autonomous vehicles.
What you'll do
- Develop and improve the media streaming stack to deliver low streaming latency, video quality, and network resilience.
- Innovate, design, and develop features to improve image quality, performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Analyze GPU/CPU performance for the video pipeline, isolate bottlenecks, and implement solutions with GPU hardware and software teams.
- Develop tools to measure user-experienced video quality and refine evaluation methods for quality improvements.
- Leverage features and toolsets in video compression technologies to deliver streaming solutions for interactive graphics applications.
- Build adaptive streaming solutions that maintain quality and continuity under variable and unreliable network conditions.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in C, C++, multi-threaded programming, and system software design.
- Familiarity with API frameworks such as DirectX, Vulkan, CUDA, OpenGL, V4L2, and NvMedia.
- Understanding of video codecs including H.264, HEVC, and AV1, including tuning codec configurations for application requirements and trade-offs.
- Proficiency in telemetry, statistical data analysis, and performance monitoring to measure and optimize video quality, latency, and system performance.
- Understanding of the software stack, including OS internals, user-mode and kernel-mode drivers, system software performance analysis, testing, and debugging.
Nice to have
- Experience with NvMedia or NVIDIA’s Video Codec SDK.
- Background in optimizing video pipelines on multiple GPU families or SoC platforms.
- Experience with real-time streaming protocols and adaptive bit-rate strategies under constrained networks.
- Experience writing or analyzing graphics rendering applications or AI-based graphics generation such as DLSS, RTX, or FSR.
Skills: media streaming stack, GPU-accelerated video, H.264/HEVC/AV1, CUDA, multi-threaded programming
