Internship - DevOps Machine Learning Infrastructure
Deploy and maintain machine learning infrastructure using AWS EKS, Python, FastAPI, and on-premises Ceph clusters.
About the role
Syntiant is seeking a DevOps Machine Learning Infrastructure Intern to support the Software Engineering team. The role focuses on building, maintaining, and enhancing machine learning applications deployed on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and on-premises machine learning clusters.
What you'll do
- Develop, maintain, and optimize RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
- Deploy and manage applications on AWS EKS to maintain high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Integrate data sources and services including MongoDB and PostgreSQL for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes.
- Maintain on-premises servers running Ceph, PostgreSQL, and NFS services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, staging, and production environments while participating in code reviews and pair programming.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience, with relevant coursework, research, or project experience.
- Proficiency in Python, with familiarity using FastAPI for API development.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.
- Familiarity with database systems, including MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and NFS.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure services such as S3, RDS, and VPCs, alongside Linux system administration.
Nice to have
- Exposure to AWS EKS, including deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters.
- Exposure to cloud-native observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes operators and Helm charts.
- Exposure to container orchestration on-premises using K8s or similar technologies.
- Exposure to DevOps best practices and infrastructure as code using Terraform or Ansible.
- Exposure to on-premises storage solutions like Ceph.
