About the role
This software engineering role is central to building the online mapping system that transforms raw sensor data into an accurate, live 3D model for autonomous vehicles. You will turn algorithmic ideas into safe, fast, maintainable code running in production vehicles on NVIDIA DRIVE Orin and Thor across L2++, L3, and L4 programs.
What you'll do
- Build and own core online mapping software operating in the car, spanning architecture, implementation, and deployment.
- Write production C++ for real-time embedded systems focused on correctness, determinism, and maintainability.
- Improve performance of C++ and CUDA code running on NVIDIA DRIVE Orin and Thor, using profilers to resolve bottlenecks and meet real-time budgets.
- Use GPU parallelism (CUDA) to make compute-heavy mapping components fast and efficient.
- Develop software compliant with automotive safety standards (ASIL-B/D), employing static analysis, coding guidelines, and unit and integration testing.
- Collaborate with perception, localization, planning, and infrastructure groups to integrate online mapping into the complete AV stack.
What you'll need
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience building robust, production-quality software.
- 3+ years of professional C++ development experience, including modern C++, memory management, concurrency, and performance.
- Experience designing software architecture and APIs for large, long-lived codebases.
- Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures, with experience applying static analysis, unit testing, and high-coverage test strategies.

How we counted: 301 open Infrastructure/Platform Software (GPU Software Stack) roles from 23 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 6 Nov 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Software, Firmware & Systems family row. Figures refresh nightly.
