Staff Engineer, Systems Performance
About the role
Deploy, performance tune, and test data center solutions using memory and storage systems. Execute systems-level projects across data center workloads including AI/ML, RDBMS, NoSQL, SDS, and data analytics to optimize performance at memory and SSD subsystems.
What you'll do
- Execute systems-level projects to evaluate data center workloads across application domains including AI/ML, RDBMS, NoSQL, SDS, and data analytics.
- Automate and expand benchmarking capabilities to improve test efficiency and repeatability.
- Instrument and measure application workloads, analyzing solution performance across memory and SSD subsystems.
- Interpret result data and summarize findings into standard methodologies, technical papers, and presentations.
- Deliver continuous improvement feedback to product development organizations.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field plus 60 months of progressive post-baccalaureate experience.
- Strong enterprise and data center server systems foundations, including memory, storage hierarchy, processors, AI accelerators, and networking.
- Demonstrated experience in hardware or software system tuning and performance analysis.
- Experience with Linux operating system deployment and optimization.
- Hands-on experience deploying, performance tuning, and testing two or more application domains, including NoSQL databases or Large Language Models.
- Python programming experience.
