Analog & Mixed-Signal Design
About the role
Avicena is hiring an analog mixed-signal engineer to design high-speed drivers that modulate microLED arrays for parallel optical links. You will own driver circuits from specification through post-layout signoff and silicon correlation.
What you'll do
- Design and simulate high-speed microLED driver circuits, including output drivers, pre-emphasis, equalization, DACs, bias generation, and pulse shaping.
- Optimize dense driver arrays for matching, supply noise sensitivity, and power per lane.
- Design calibration and trim circuits in coordination with the digital team.
- Verify designs across PVT and Monte Carlo, managing post-layout extraction and signoff with layout engineers.
- Deliver behavioral models, correlate them with transistor-level results, and support silicon bring-up.
- Set technical direction for transmitter circuits, lead design reviews, and define verification signoff criteria (principal level).
What you'll need
- MS in Electrical Engineering (or BS with equivalent experience) and 5+ years of analog/mixed-signal design.
- Taped-out high-speed transmitter or driver circuits, such as laser, VCSEL, or LED drivers, or SerDes transmitters.
- High-speed driver and DAC design experience.
- Design experience in FinFET or other advanced CMOS processes.
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso and Spectre, and with post-layout verification.
Nice to have
- Optical transmitter design for laser, VCSEL, or LED-based links.
- Supply integrity and power delivery awareness for large driver arrays.
- Behavioral modeling in Verilog-A.
- Hands-on lab characterization.
- 10+ years with technical leadership of transmitter designs through production (principal level).
Skills: microLED driver, output drivers, DAC, Cadence Virtuoso, FinFET, Spectre
