$135,900 - $295,000 USD yearly
About the role
Skyworks is seeking a Senior Principal Analog Design Engineer to drive architecture, design, and validation of analog power management ICs. The position supports product lines in Power Loss Protection, PMICs, Motor Control, and Battery Management solutions.
What you'll do
- Lead the design, simulation, and validation of analog power management ICs to achieve target efficiency, power density, and reliability.
- Define product architecture and specifications in collaboration with system engineers, balancing performance, power, and cost constraints.
- Select and implement circuit topologies, ensuring robustness, yield, and manufacturability through transistor-level design.
- Partner with layout engineers to optimize floor planning, parasitics, and overall silicon performance.
- Collaborate with test and characterization engineers to define validation methodologies, resolve design issues, and optimize production test strategies.
- Lead technical reviews and documentation, communicating design decisions and trade-offs across cross-functional and global engineering teams.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 15+ years of engineering experience (or equivalent education and experience) in the semiconductor industry.
- 8+ years of experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design, focusing on DC-DC power converter architectures and control methodologies such as voltage mode control and current mode control.
- Proven experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and flows, including EMIR tools, capacitive coupling tools, and parasitic extraction tools.
- Demonstrated experience bringing power management ICs through production release.
Nice to have
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, SIMPLIS, and ADS.
- Hands-on lab experience supporting high frequency switching power supplies in the semiconductor power management industry.
