Senior Principal Analog Architect – Data Converters

About the role

This position is responsible for leading the development of high-resolution data converter IP for standard products and integration into the Core Analog Division's portfolio of configurable products. The scope focuses on high-performance analog IP, DC-DC, and FPGA integration within the GreenPAK family of products.

What you'll do

• Architect and design high-performance AFE (analog frontends) and signal-chain ecosystems, including PGA (programmable gain amplifiers), precision voltage references, and data converters.
• Develop high-accuracy IP with voltage accuracy on the order of 1uV.
• Develop Delta Sigma A/D converters with resolution of 24-bit or higher, SAR A/D converters with resolution of 16-bit or higher, and Nyquist D/A converters with resolution of 18-bit or higher.
• Guide and mentor CMSD’s global Design, Characterization, and Test Engineering team on high-voltage and high-accuracy design and test techniques.
• Develop product definition and specifications to achieve optimal tradeoffs between product competitiveness and development cost.
• Collaborate with Product Definition and Marketing on product roadmaps and long-term IP development plans, and represent CAD R&D at product group and company levels.

What you'll need

• MSEE or PhD in EE + 15 years semiconductor design leadership experience.
• Proven track record in designing high-accuracy products with resolution better than 1uV and high-performance AFE products with ENOB of 16-bit or above.
• Proven track record in designing high-resolution SAR (16-bit or above) and Delta-Sigma (24-bit or above) A/D converters.
• Proven track record in designing high-resolution Nyquist D/A converters (18-bit or above) and high-speed A/D converters with data rate over 100MSPS.
• Deep knowledge of ESD, Latch-up, and IC reliability issues.
• Deep knowledge of mixed-signal and BCD process technologies and design methodologies and tools.
