About the role
The Senior Power Module Design Engineer handles power module product research and development within the Broad Market and Industrial BU in the µModule Group.
What you'll do
- Execute new power module product development, including product feasibility, design, simulation, test, lab evaluation, qualification, and release. - Collaborate with product marketing, applications teams, and customers to understand applications and contribute to definitions of new products. - Identify project technical risks, define mitigating strategies, and establish milestones to ensure project success. - Prepare and present design review documentation at peer review meetings. - Perform lab evaluation and circuit debug. - Mentor and develop junior engineers for technical growth while delivering technical writing, presentations, and training sessions.
What you'll need
- MSEE with 3+ years of experience or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics. - Experience in switching power converter design, development, and evaluations. - Foundation in analog circuit, power electronics, and power management systems. - DC/DC power converter design and optimization skills across Buck, Boost, and related topologies. - Knowledge of transformer-based power converters including Flyback, forward, half-bridge, and full bridge architectures. - Experience in power converter modeling, control architecture, loop design, and static/dynamic performance optimizations. - Proficiency with circuit design, simulation, and optimization tools including SPICE/LTspice, Simplis, MathCAD/Matlab, or Ansys/Maxwell, alongside lab equipment for power applications. - Experience with magnetic design and simulation, as well as thermal analysis.
Nice to have
- Firmware, DSP, or FPGA programming and I2C/PMbus experience. - Analog IC design knowledge.
