About the role
This role leads the development of complex mechanical subsystems and contributes to overall platform architecture for e-beam inspection and review systems. You will own hardware and major subsystems from concept through production, resolving engineering problems involving precision mechanics, vacuum systems, thermal management, vibration, and system integration.
What you'll do
- Lead the development of complex mechanical subsystems and contribute to overall platform architecture.
- Translate customer, product, and system requirements into technical solutions through feasibility studies, trade-off analyses, and risk retirement.
- Own solutions throughout the full development lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through prototype, integration, validation, release, and production.
- Develop mechanical designs and engineering drawings using 3D CAD tools.
- Lead or perform engineering analysis including thermal, fluid, vibration, structural, tolerance, and finite element analysis (FEA).
- Drive prototype builds, material procurement, subsystem integration, system-level testing, and performance validation.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience, Master's degree with 6 years, or Doctorate with 3 years.
- Experience with vacuum chamber design.
- Demonstrated experience owning hardware or subsystem development from concept through integration and validation.
- Strong knowledge of precision machine design, including GD&T, tolerance analysis, materials, machine elements, and fabrication methods.
- Experience with mechanical analysis and simulation, such as structural, thermal, vibration, fluid, or FEA.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools.
Nice to have
- High voltage related design experience.
- Experience with Creo/ProE.
