About the role
This role drives the design, implementation, and optimization of High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures. You will serve as the technical lead for HPC platforms, GPU acceleration, workload schedulers, and AI/ML computing systems.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and optimize HPC clusters across on-premises, cloud (Azure, AWS), and hybrid environments.
- Configure and manage workload schedulers and platforms including Slurm, Azure CycleCloud, and Rescale.
- Automate cluster provisioning and configuration management using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible alongside Python and Bash scripting.
- Conduct performance tuning, capacity analysis, and benchmarking for high-speed networking (InfiniBand, RDMA) and parallel storage systems (Lustre, GPFS, BeeGFS, Weka).
- Serve as the highest-level escalation point for complex technical incidents, root-cause analyses, and technical mentorship.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in HPC engineering, infrastructure, or architecture roles, including 2+ years in a technical lead or senior engineer capacity.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of HPC cluster design, Linux system administration, and Slurm workload schedulers.
- Experience with cloud HPC solutions on Azure or AWS.
- Hands-on expertise with parallel file systems (such as Lustre, GPFS, BeeGFS, or Weka) and high-speed networking (InfiniBand, RDMA).
- Proven background in GPU computing (NVIDIA GPUs, CUDA) and parallel application environments (MPI).
- Scripting and automation proficiency with Python, Bash, or PowerShell, alongside infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting engineering simulation and scientific workloads, including CAE and CFD applications such as Ansys or Siemens.
- Experience with container runtimes for HPC and AI, including Apptainer/Singularity, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud-native AI platforms and MLOps workflows.
- Familiarity with HPC security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Relevant technical certifications in cloud technologies (Azure, AWS) or HPC environments.
