About the role
As a Senior Software Support Engineer at ASM International, you will investigate, recreate, and troubleshoot software issues to resolution as reported by customers. The software controls semiconductor processing equipment hardware including robotics, gas valves, and temperature controllers.
What you'll do
- Gather information to investigate issues, reproduce them, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions. - Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, including embedded software for control systems, while triaging mechanical, electrical, and software bugs. - Manage escalation calls with field support engineers and liaise with the account team and GPS group. - Create bug reports for developers and collaborate with QA to add replicated bugs to test regressions. - Travel 10-25% domestically and internationally to customer sites for installations, training, and troubleshooting.
What you'll need
- BS with 8+ years or MS with 4+ years in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. - Demonstrated software development or test (QA) experience. - Ability to read code and diagnose software issues. - Ability to travel 10-25% domestic and international.
Nice to have
- Expertise in C/C++, C#, Python, or Gitlab/Github. - Experience with semiconductor equipment. - Experience working with software for machine control, semiconductor factory automation, multi-threaded applications, real-time software, device drivers, or other interrupt-driven software.
