About the role
AMD's DC GPU Firmware team is seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Lead to drive and deliver modular, extensible firmware for AMD EPYC servers, Data Center GPU products, and AI racks.
What you'll do
- Lead embedded firmware development and QA for new and sustaining AMD EPYC Server and DC GPU products.
- Partner with Platform and SW Architecture teams to bring up BIOS and firmware during Embedded SoC bring-up.
- Collaborate with HW and Silicon Validation teams to verify embedded features in silicon IP.
- Guide engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and licensing reviews for open-source and closed-source code.
- Support field escalations from the Customer Applications Engineering team and develop software proofs of concept (POCs) for early technology enablement.
- Train and enable Applications Engineers and FAEs on software solutions and AMD technologies.
What you'll need
- Relevant industry experience shipping server, storage, or networking products for enterprise, cloud data center, or service provider markets.
- Experience serving as a technical expert leading engineering teams across firmware, drivers, and OS stack architectures.
- Strong C/C++ development skills with object-oriented design understanding.
- Direct experience architecting, designing, and developing system/infrastructure software for embedded networking systems on Linux or an RTOS.
- Experience with full product life cycle software development methods, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Bachelor of Technology or BS in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in a customer-facing or applications engineering role.
