Digital Design & SoC Architecture

About the role

This role owns electrical designs from concept through production across power, motor control, sensing, communication, and mixed-signal electronics for a robotics platform. Technical scope includes designing printed circuit board assemblies and interface boards connecting to NVIDIA Jetson and Thor platforms.

What you'll do

  • Own electrical designs from concept through production spanning power, motor control, sensing, communication, and mixed-signal electronics.
  • Generate schematics and PCB layouts to bring up main logic boards, control boards, test/characterization boards (SoCs, FPGAs, AFEs, ASICs, MCPs), and interface boards for high-speed video and networking to NVIDIA Jetson and Thor platforms.
  • Design for volume manufacturing and support factory engineers through prototyping, product launch, failure analysis, and quality compliance.
  • Develop engineering test plans and methodologies for in-circuit and functional testing.
  • Validate power and signal integrity in the laboratory, diagnosing design issues and executing corrective actions.
  • Resolve cross-functional architecture issues involving performance, power consumption, thermal behavior, and system integration.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 8 years of experience.
  • Proficiency with Altium 365, Cadence OrCAD, Allegro, and PLM tools such as Arena.
  • Deep specialization in SoCs, cameras, sensors, power/energy management architectures, and high-speed interfaces including USB 3.1 Gen 2, LPDDR4/4x, MIPI, 10G/25G Ethernet, and PCIe Gen 2/3.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB layout of power distribution networks (PDN), analog, and digital signals accounting for system-level timing, loss budget, silicon, package, and board impairments.
  • Experience with lab measurements, debugging, and SI correlations using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and TDRs.
  • Ability to travel internationally as needed.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree with additional relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with Ansys SIwave, Ansys HFSS, Cadence Sigrity, or Keysight ADS.
  • Experience with robotics, mobile platforms, or autonomous systems.
  • Sensor integration experience with cameras, solid-state LiDAR, or IMUs.
  • Embedded firmware and hardware integration experience in C/C++ or Python.
  • Functional safety design experience under ISO 26262 or IEC 61508 standards.
  • Data analysis experience using JMP or Excel.
