About the role
This role involves developing visual analytics solutions across software and hardware for use cases spanning Mobile, XR, IoT, Compute, and Auto business units. Activities span the full product life cycle, from early R&D prototyping to commercial deployment on Qualcomm SoCs.
What you'll do
- Design and implement vision and image processing API and pipelines on Qualcomm SoCs and platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional software, firmware, and hardware teams to define technical specifications.
- Serve as feature owner across software design, implementation, commercialization, and system-level validation.
- Engage with internal clients across Camera, Video, and XR technology areas, as well as OEMs, Tier-1s, and ISVs to implement solutions.
- Support all phases of embedded software development, including bring-up, design, deployment, and customer support.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 2+ years of software engineering experience (or Master's degree with 1+ year, or PhD).
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Hands-on software design and development experience on complex embedded computing platforms.
- Machine learning, image processing, and computer vision knowledge or API/SDK development experience.
- Operating system knowledge and computer architecture project experience.
- Experience debugging complex embedded software and using version-based tools.
Nice to have
- Experience in embedded system software development including kernels, device drivers, and board-support packages.
- Previous projects with an available GitHub link.
