About the role
AMD is seeking an engineer to develop a machine learning model compiler targeting AMD AIE in Ryzen AI PC and embedded FPGA devices. The compiler translates ONNX or PyTorch models into optimized control and executable code for the AIE VLIW processor array, managing partitioning between x86, embedded processors, FPGA fabric, and AIE.
What you'll do
- Integrate the compiler and compiled models with machine learning frameworks such as ONNX and PyTorch.
- Implement model partitioning within machine learning frameworks and MLIR.
- Implement runtime components to distribute work to and collect results from x86 cores and AIE cores.
- Generate code to interface with AMD AIE specific runtime and driver environments.
- Debug and resolve existing issues while researching more efficient execution paths.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Object-oriented programming background in C/C++ and Python.
- Experience with ML compiler and runtime technologies such as MLIR and LLVM.
- Compiler building skills and experience generating code for an ML hardware accelerator.
- Working knowledge of machine learning concepts, model development, and frameworks including ONNX and PyTorch.
- Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs.
Nice to have
- Experience with software development tools including debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub), and profilers.
