About the role
This Semiconductor Module Design Co-Op will work with the module team on part development, validation, and design for chipsets used in cell phones.
What you'll do
- Tune RF front-end modules in the lab
- Perform impedance matching using the Smith chart
- Evaluate RF parameters like IP3, P1dB, NF, and return loss
- Validate performance across supply, temperature, and frequency
- Create 3D models in HFSS and simulate S-Parameter files in ADS
- Create compliance matrices against spec, plot results, and present a results summary
What you'll need
- Enrollment in an Electrical Engineering (or related) BS, MS, or Ph.D. program
- Availability to work onsite June - December 2027
- Knowledge of semiconductors, analog circuits, RF design fundamentals, wireless systems, and introductory electromagnetics
- Understanding of basic RF module building blocks like LNA, PA, switches, filters, and inductors
- Understanding of design parameters like gain, noise, non-linearity, S-parameters, and stability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Nice to have
- Exposure to lab testing setup and environment, including network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, frequency generator, and noise figure meter
- Experience with module design tools like HFSS and ADS
- Experience with layout tools like Allegro
