About the role
This role is responsible for executing RF device characterization measurements, developing test methods, analyzing data, and supporting new product development activities, specifically evaluating the performance of RF semiconductor devices.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute characterization test plans for RF semiconductor devices.
- Perform RF measurements including S-parameters, load pull, pulsed RF, power sweep, harmonics, ACPR, and modulation testing.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain RF test equipment including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters, source measure units, and load pull systems.
- Analyze measurement data and prepare technical reports summarizing device performance.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, instrumentation, and measurement-related issues.
- Develop and maintain automated test and data analysis tools using Python, Excel VBA, MATLAB, or similar programming languages.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in RF test engineering, device characterization, or semiconductor product development.
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals including S-parameters, gain compression, load pull, efficiency, harmonics, ACPR, and modulation measurements.
- Hands-on experience with RF test instrumentation including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
- Experience with RF load pull systems and power amplifier characterization.
- Experience developing automated test solutions and data analysis tools using Python, Excel VBA, MATLAB, or similar tools.
Nice to have
- Experience with RF semiconductor technologies such as GaN, GaAs, SOI, or silicon-based devices.
- Experience with on-wafer RF measurements and calibration techniques.
- Familiarity with pulsed IV characterization and nonlinear device testing.
- Experience working in a semiconductor characterization or product development laboratory.
- Knowledge of statistical data analysis and database-driven measurement systems.
