About the role
As a Software R&D Engineer on the Digital and Photonics team, you will contribute to sampling oscilloscope application development and strengthen the CI/CD and release pipelines delivering software to customers and manufacturing. The scope spans measurement, analysis, and instrument-control features alongside build automation and DevOps engineering in Azure DevOps.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain measurement, analysis, and instrument-control features for sampling oscilloscope applications.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps that build, test, package, and release software.
- Automate build versioning, installer creation, code signing, and artifact management.
- Investigate, reproduce, and resolve issues reported by customers, manufacturing, and internal partners alongside hardware, QA, and support teams.
- Support source control and branching strategies while contributing to source control modernization.
- Develop automation scripts, tools, and dashboards to track build health, developer productivity, and quality metrics.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, and substantial project work count) or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented language, preferably C#, with the ability to write and debug non-trivial code independently.
- Experience developing software on Windows.
- Hands-on experience with, or a solid understanding of, CI/CD concepts including automated builds, pipelines, automated testing, and release management.
- Working knowledge of Git or another source control system.
- Scripting experience for automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar.
- Understanding of software testing concepts, including unit, integration, and regression testing.
Nice to have
- C# / .NET and WPF desktop application development experience.
- Git and TFVC branching and merging strategies.
- Windows installer technologies and code signing.
- Experience with secure software tools, such as static analysis (Coverity, Polaris), open-source license compliance (BlackDuck), and vulnerability management.
- Instrument control (SCPI, VISA) or hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment.
- Knowledge of signal processing, high-speed digital communications, or oscilloscope fundamentals.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
