About the role
The Product Validation Engineer develops characterization and testing plans, working with R&D, silicon foundry partners, and manufacturing engineers to resolve technical issues and meet performance requirements. The position drives product introduction, yield ramp-up, and quality evaluations for image sensors and ASIC devices.
What you'll do
- Evaluate image sensor manufacturing quality by statistically analyzing electrical and functional parameters in wafer level characterization and chip scale testing. - Drive production yield rate from new product tape out to target yield levels, prioritizing parameters by yield loss rate and debugging root causes with process and design teams. - Conduct product introduction and ramp-up for image sensors and ASIC devices in collaboration with silicon foundry, image characterization, and pixel design groups. - Drive characterization to finalize the product datasheet and determine production testing specifications based on wafer level and packaged chip testing data. - Work with test engineers to develop, verify, and release testing programs at CP or FT, test sample sensors on manual boards, and finalize ATE testing programs. - Coordinate with foundry fabs, reliability engineers, and semiconductor processing tool vendors to optimize silicon processes, color, packaging, and inline process flows.
What you'll need
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. - Understanding of semiconductor physics, including CMOS transistor performance and NMOS/PMOS device behavior. - Experience in digital circuit design and hardware/software integration, with proficiency in digital logic design, simulation, and synthesis using Verilog and Xcelium. - Background in software development and research involving digital signal processing principles and statistical analysis methods. - Proficiency in data analysis and visualization using Python and Excel to manage large datasets and identify trends. - Demonstrated ability to apply engineering techniques for system modeling, optimization, and control in complex applications.
