About the role

As a Product Engineer within the KLA Services team, you will serve as the central technical resource and interface with software and hardware design engineering, manufacturing, technical support, quality, and marketing as products move through the Product Life Cycle.

What you'll do

- Interface directly with software and hardware design engineering to incorporate serviceability, reliability, calibrations, and diagnostics into early product designs. - Drive continuous improvement of system hardware, diagnostics, software, tooling, technical documentation, and knowledge management to optimize Cost of Service (CoS). - Perform hands-on integration of Alpha and Beta systems, including serviceability validation, and travel to Beta sites to support new tool installations, upgrades, and escalations. - Formulate bottom-up and top-down Cost of Service models during the initial concept phase and update them through the product life cycle. - Step into Beta and sustaining escalations, analyze system data, and deliver detailed action plans for Customer Service Engineers and Technical Support Engineers. - Define spare parts stocking plans, preventative maintenance schedules, and technical training requirements alongside Learning and Knowledge Services.

What you'll need

- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related work experience, Master's degree with 3 years of related work experience, or a Doctorate degree with 0 years of related work experience. - Experience with overall system operation, system integration, and system calibrations. - Practical experience with 7-step trouble-shooting methodologies. - Experience developing Cost of Service (CoS) models and defining spare parts stocking plans. - Ability to travel to Beta sites for new tool installations, upgrades, and escalation support.
