This role focuses on MMWave Silicon IC Beamformers and Frequency Converters.
About the role
As a Product Engineer, you will develop and qualify new products and maintain the current portfolio of released products within the HPA Product Group. This position focuses on new product introductions, improving yields, maintaining quality, and perfecting test solutions for wireless RF products.
What you'll do
- Become proficient with functionality and design attributes of MMWave Silicon IC Beamformers and Frequency Converters.
- Drive Product Engineering deliverables for New Product Development.
- Provide detailed analyses for design revisions during prototype phase and communicate improvements to the core development team.
- Practice continuous improvement and yield optimization by tracking wafer foundry parameters, uncovering correlations, and troubleshooting process and equipment issues.
- Employ Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles to reduce variability in product performance.
- Develop test plans for prototype and production electrical testing of wafers and packaged devices.
- Analyze products for manufacturability and data sheet compliance, including setting optimal screening limits and guard-bands in production test plans.
- Compile and analyze data using common statistical techniques (time-series analysis, CPK, DOE, SPC, ANOVA) and present results with recommended actions.
- Generate Yield Plans to improve manufacturing efficiency for cost optimization and yield targets.
- Serve as the central technical resource for design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as products move from prototype to production.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable technical discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in a semiconductor environment, preferably within the wireless RF industry.
- Understanding of IC reliability and qualification methods.
- Use and documentation of disciplined problem-solving techniques such as 8D or 5-Whys.
- Experience in statistical methods, database interfaces, statistical software, and data automation tools, such as Databricks, SQL, Python, Spotfire, JMP, and Excel.
- Understanding of RF/Microwave theory and semiconductor physics.
- Knowledge of typical RF test equipment and common test methodologies.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable technical discipline.
- Background in Wi-Fi and Cellular standards.
