About the role
The Product Cost Engineer evaluates manufacturability and cost for components and assemblies across semiconductor equipment commodities.
What you'll do
- Utilize aPriori to perform technical calculations on individual BTP parts and assemblies to calculate price and lead times for Applied Materials and suppliers.
- Identify manufacturability improvements and corrections and present findings to Design Engineers.
- Apply GD&T standards and explain proper interpretation to suppliers.
- Run true-up negotiations to provide detailed technical support during pricing and lead time discussions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Materials, Manufacturing, Quality, and external suppliers.
What you'll need
- Knowledge of manufacturability and producibility practices specific to metal/plastic machining and sheet metal commodities.
- Understanding of commodity types including gas line weldments, cables, and ceramics.
- Understanding of GD&T standards for proper application.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
