About the role
Arm's Machine Learning Hardware Architecture team within Central Technology is seeking a Principal Modeling Engineer to define performance models for machine learning accelerators and Arm IP designs.
What you'll do
- Lead efforts implementing new capabilities in performance models to define the performance for new features in accelerators.
- Work with hardware architects and workload characterization to propose and characterize architectural changes to products.
- Define architectural experiments and interpret the resulting performance data.
- Mentor junior engineers across the modeling team.
What you'll need
- Strong computer architecture and systems engineering fundamentals.
- Functional and performance modeling experience for hardware IP development.
- Software development skills including modern C++ and Python.
- Ability to define architectural experiments and interpret results.
- Familiarity with Linux development environments.
- Debugging and problem-solving skills for complex systems.
Nice to have
- Experience with machine learning IP development or ML systems.
- Experience with cache-coherent memory system architecture.
- Hardware microarchitecture exploration experience.
