About the role
This Principal Digital Design Engineer role sits within Renesas' Analog and Mixed Signal Business Group, focused on architecting, designing, and implementing digital and mixed signal ICs. The position contributes to full development cycles from initial product conception to final production release across distributed teams.
What you'll do
- Architect, design, and implement digital and mixed signal ICs across product conception to production release.
- Define chip architecture, partitioning, assignment, RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, DFT, and timing check.
- Drive design documentation, silicon evaluation, circuit debugging, and production test development support.
- Provide technical support for customer and applications teams and contribute to technology specifications for future products.
- Collaborate with engineering teams located in the United States and China to deliver silicon on time and within cost targets.
What you'll need
- MSEE or PhD in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant industry experience, or BSEE with 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Hands-on experience in SoC architecture, AHB/APB/AXI bus matrix design, and interface protocols including USB, I2C/I3C, SPI, UART, and packet-oriented protocols.
- Working knowledge of embedded memories including SRAM, OTP, MTP, and EE/Flash memory.
- Solid experience in the complete digital design flow, encompassing RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, DFT, and timing analysis.
- Proven track record of architecting and leading silicon development through to production.
Nice to have
- Mixed-signal chip development experience and mixed-signal knowledge.
- Project management skills.
- Knowledge of DDR DRAM and Flash memory.
- Bilingual fluency in Mandarin.
