About the role
GlobalFoundries is seeking a Principal Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Engineer to lead the strategy, design, implementation, and evolution of software delivery infrastructure for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and hardware-software co-development environments.
What you'll do
- Own the end-to-end CI/CD strategy and automation execution for globally distributed software development teams.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated build, test, release, and deployment pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and JFrog Artifactory.
- Configure CI/CD workflows that interface directly with emulation, simulation, embedded hardware, and hardware-software validation platforms.
- Define, implement, and maintain source-code branching and release strategies for complex product release cycles.
- Develop and maintain containerized, reproducible build environments and test-runner workloads using technologies such as Podman.
- Build dashboards, metrics, and alerts in Grafana to monitor pipeline health, runner performance, infrastructure utilization, and service reliability.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 5-10 years of experience in CI/CD, automation, DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or site reliability engineering, including establishing and maintaining software delivery infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines and software distributions using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and JFrog Artifactory.
- Programming and scripting skills in Shell, Python, and Groovy.
- Experience managing containerized applications and build environments using tools like Podman.
- Experience with Linux compute clusters or grid schedulers, such as SGE/UGE, SLURM, or LSF, as well as observability tools like Grafana.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Experience integrating CI/CD systems with emulation, simulation, embedded hardware, or hardware-in-the-loop validation environments.
- Familiarity with at least one machine learning framework or model format, such as ONNX, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools, such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
