About the role
Skyworks is seeking an Analog Power Design Engineer to drive architecture, design, and validation of analog power management ICs. The position supports the Power Management division across product areas including Power Loss Protection, PMICs, Motor Control, and Battery Management solutions.
What you'll do
- Lead the design and development of analog power management ICs, defining architecture and specifications in collaboration with system engineers.
- Select and implement circuit topologies, ensuring robustness, yield, and manufacturability.
- Conduct transistor-level design, simulation, and validation to meet functional and performance specifications.
- Collaborate with layout engineers to optimize floor planning, parasitics, and silicon performance.
- Partner with test and characterization engineers to define validation methodologies, resolve design issues, and optimize production test strategies.
- Drive technical reviews and documentation, communicating design decisions and trade-offs to internal stakeholders and global design teams.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 12+ years of semiconductor industry engineering experience (or equivalent education and experience).
- 8+ years of experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design, focusing on DC-DC power converter architectures and control methodologies such as voltage mode control and current mode control.
- Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools including EMIR tools, capacitive coupling tools and flows, and parasitic extraction tools.
- Experience taking power management ICs through to production release.
Nice to have
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, SIMPLIS, and ADS.
- Hands-on lab experience supporting high-frequency switching power supplies in the semiconductor power management industry.
