About the role
This Principal Analog Design Engineer role involves architecting, designing, and verifying analog and mixed-signal power management ICs and motor drivers within the Power IC Business Unit.
What you'll do
- Lead the definition and transistor-level design of analog power management systems and motor drivers, including op-amps, comparators, gate drivers, charge pumps, and regulators.
- Innovate and develop circuit topologies to achieve high levels of silicon performance, efficiency, and robustness.
- Partner with Systems Engineering, Marketing, and customers to translate system-level requirements into block-level specifications.
- Enhance analog design processes and explore the integration of emerging methodologies, including generative AI workflows.
- Lead top-level simulation planning, define worst-case corner matrices, and utilize Monte Carlo and parasitic extraction routines.
- Act as the primary technical interface for layout, ESD, EMC, digital design, and test teams.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a highly related technical field.
- 12+ years (with a Bachelor’s) or 10+ years (with a Master’s/PhD) of experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design, with a strong track record in power management or motor driver architectures.
- Proven track record of delivering multiple complex IC projects from initial concept to high-volume production.
- Expert-level knowledge of BCD (Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS) and CMOS technologies, with deep understanding of physical design, high-voltage layouts, and isolation techniques.
- Comprehensive mastery of gate drive circuit design for both Silicon and wide-bandgap (GaN/SiC) MOSFETs.
- Expertise in functional safety standards for automotive semiconductor design (ISO 26262, ASIL compliance).
- Power user of industry-standard EDA design suites (Cadence Virtuoso and Siemens SDE), advanced simulation tools (Spectre, AFS), and physical verification tools (Calibre DRC/LVS).
- Outstanding analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to influence global cross-functional stakeholders.
