About the role
AMD is hiring a PMTS Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductors. The role involves designing CPU competitive analysis solutions focusing on x86, ARM, and other architectures, as well as building targeted droop event frameworks for DI/DT analysis.
What you'll do
- Lead definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development, logic design, and system simulation.
- Design and develop CPU competitive analysis solutions focusing on x86, ARM, and other architectures.
- Build and optimize a framework for generating targeted droop events in DI/DT analysis to enable accurate power modeling.
- Define module interfaces and formats for simulation, and lead the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuit layouts.
- Evaluate and make technical decisions across the design flow, from synthesis, place and route, to timing and power analysis.
- Test and verify hardware to ensure design specifications and requirements are met while resolving hardware-software compatibility issues.
What you'll need
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field with 5 years of experience (or a Bachelor's degree with 7 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience).
- 5 years of experience scripting in C, C++, or Python.
- 5 years of experience in kernel and driver development, as well as designing and developing hardware access and control libraries.
- 5 years of experience in platform-level stress testing and synthetic workload design.
- 5 years of experience building frameworks and libraries to scale validation tools, including Hardware Access Tools Development.
- 5 years of experience with CPU and GPU Performance Analysis Tools Development, CPU Power Management Configuration and Monitoring Tools, and CPU Instruction and Bus Tracing Tools Development.
- 5 years of experience in x86 and ARM assembly.
Skills: platform-level stress testing, kernel and driver development, hardware access tools, DI/DT analysis, x86 assembly
